Well they don't affect rep. So they're pointless. As opposed to rep, which was actually really........pointless.

I think emoji reactions will eventually affect rep. I also think that what should happen is that if you have negative rep/reaction points, at that point reactions that the person with negative rep makes don't affect rep/reaction points of others, just like the old site.
